What does the referral code give you?
Under Hyperliquid’s referral program, a referred account receives a 4% discount on its trading fees for its first $25M of trading volume. After that volume, fees return to the normal schedule.
The referrer — in this case HyperAcademy — receives a share of the fees the referred account pays. The discount comes out of the protocol fee; it does not change prices, spreads or order execution.

How do you apply the code?
New account: sign up through the referral link
- Open the referral link (button above) in the browser or wallet app you will trade from.
- Connect your wallet on Hyperliquid.
- Click “Join with code: HYPERLAB” when the app shows it.
Existing account: enter the code manually
- Open https://app.hyperliquid.xyz/referrals with the wallet you trade from.
- Click “Enter Code”.
- Type HYPERLAB and click “Set referrer”.
- Sign the request in your wallet. It is a signature, not an on-chain transaction, so there is no gas fee.
- This only works while the account has traded less than $10,000 in cumulative volume (a rule shown in the Hyperliquid app).
How to check it worked
- The referrals page shows “You are using the code: HYPERLAB”.
- The fee tooltip in the trading panel lists a 4% referral discount.

What does it do to your fee?
The discount is 4% of the fee itself, not 4 percentage points. At the base (tier 0) fee schedule the difference looks like this:

Example: a $10,000 perp taker order costs about $4.50 in fees at tier 0 and about $4.32 with the referral discount. Higher volume tiers have lower base rates; the 4% applies to whichever rate you pay.

What are the exclusions and limits?
- Vault and sub-account trades do not receive the referral discount.
- The discount ends once the account has traded $25M in volume.
- A code cannot be added after the account has traded $10,000 in volume (Hyperliquid app rule).
- Referrals are not available in some jurisdictions; for example, the app shows this notice to users in the United Kingdom.
- Orders placed through third-party apps that use a builder code also pay that app’s builder fee, which is set by the app and is separate from the referral discount.
