FLR is Flare Network's native token, built for a Layer-1 whose whole purpose is bringing data availability and cross-chain interoperability — decentralized oracles, asset bridging — to smart contracts on chains that lack those features natively; the FAssets system behind bridged tokens like FXRP is one of its more visible outputs. Past gas fees, FLR also feeds Flare's network-level incentive and delegation design, so its value ties partly to how much activity actually flows through Flare's data and bridging stack rather than any one showcase application.
