If you're reading this, you've just found HyperAcademy. Good timing. You're going to need a map. This is Lesson 1 — the orientation that tells you what this platform is, who it's built for, and exactly where to begin.
Hyperliquid is one of the most sophisticated trading platforms ever built. It's also one of the least explained. The official documentation is technical. Most YouTube content is either promotional or shallow. HyperAcademy is neither — we're here to give you a real education, structured and practical.

Why HyperAcademy Exists
Hyperliquid processes trades at 100,000 transactions per second, runs a fully on-chain order book, and launched without a single dollar of venture capital. By almost any technical measure, it's the most impressive DEX ever built. And yet, if you searched for a clear, structured guide to using it, you'd find almost nothing.
HyperAcademy fills that gap. We're an independent education platform — not affiliated with Hyperliquid Labs — that translates protocol mechanics into practical lessons. Every article, tutorial, and video is built around one outcome: making you a more capable, confident trader on Hyperliquid.
Who Is This For?
Primarily: traders who've been using centralized exchanges — Binance, Bybit, OKX — and are curious about Hyperliquid. You know how perpetual futures work. You've seen the Hyperliquid name in your feed. You want to understand it properly before committing real capital.
If you're earlier than that — if you don't yet know what a perpetual future is — that's fine too. Level 1 starts from zero. We'll explain every concept when you need it. You don't need prior DeFi or blockchain experience. You just need a willingness to learn systematically.
The 5-Level Learning Path
The 200-lesson curriculum is organized into five levels, each building on the last:
Level 1 — Beginner: What Hyperliquid is, how to connect a wallet, how to deposit, and how to place your first perpetual trade. 44 lessons.
Level 2 — Foundation: Spot trading, advanced order types (TWAP, TP/SL), risk management, and a complete understanding of funding rates. 43 lessons.
Level 3 — Intermediate: HYPE tokenomics, staking, HLP vaults, referral programs, and the Hyperliquid API. 36 lessons.
Level 4 — Advanced: HyperCore architecture, HyperBFT consensus, HIPs (Hyperliquid Improvement Proposals), HyperEVM, and institutional-grade strategy. 47 lessons.
Level 5 — Expert: Long-term HYPE investment frameworks, competitive analysis, advanced DeFi strategies, and on-chain research methods. 30 lessons.
Most learners spend 2–3 weeks in Level 1 before moving on. There's no deadline. The lessons are designed to be read at your own pace, in order within each module.
How the Content Works
HyperAcademy has three content types. Articles are conceptual explainers — like this one. They give you the mental model before you touch the product. Tutorials are step-by-step practical guides with screenshots, for when you're ready to act. Videos are short-form (5–15 min) lessons; the companion article gives you the written version to reference later.
All content is available in English and Mandarin. Lessons within each module are ordered intentionally — each one builds context for the next. We recommend reading them in sequence, at least through Level 1.
Where to Start
You're already in it. This is Lesson 1. The next lesson (HL-002) answers the single most important question: what exactly is Hyperliquid? After that, HL-003 explains what a perpetual DEX is and why it matters, then HL-004 covers the founding story. By the end of Module 1 (HL-007), you'll have a complete mental model of what Hyperliquid is and why it's different. That's the foundation everything else builds on.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know what a blockchain is before starting?
No. Level 1 assumes no prior crypto or blockchain knowledge. We explain every concept exactly when you need it. If you know how to use Binance or Bybit, you have more than enough background to begin.
How long does each lesson take?
Articles range from 5 to 15 minutes of reading time. Videos are typically 5 to 15 minutes. Tutorials depend on how carefully you follow each step — most complete in under 30 minutes. There's no schedule; learn at whatever pace fits your life.
